From the Garden

Allegra grows a variety of salad greens that are picked so fresh they just melt in your mouth.  From head lettuces, to leafy green mixtures, and a variety of mesclun blends, her lettuce is bound to be the freshest and  most delicate you have ever had!

Each year Allegra offers a variety of summer squashes including heirloom zucchini types, scallop squashes, golden crooknecks, and new this year acorn squash!  

Allegra grew up snacking on garden peas that were so delicious raw they hardly made it past the garden gate.  Crunchy and fun raw or cooked, Allegra’s heirloom peas are sure to delight!

Why do we we say free foraging?  Because the only times our 30+ hens are in a coop are to lay eggs or to sleep safely.  Daily the coop doors are opened and the ladies( and a few roosters, guinea fowl, ducks and a turkey) are free to roam and forage for a truly balanced diet.  Commercial soy-free organic feed is available should they desire an easy meal.  Not only does letting the hens roam freely create a healthier flock, it also renders a more delicious egg!

Two highly nutritious and beautiful greens, Allegra offers multiple varieties of kale, Swiss chard, and other greens great for cooking with or juicing!

Allegra offers a unique blend of hybrid and heirloom tomatoes grown with painstaking care that are all suitable for slicing, sauces, and salads.

Allegra also offers a bounty of many  varieties of  beans, eggplants, peppers, cucumbers, and herbs.  Every growing season is an adventure.

Started  in  the  greenhouse,  these  lettuces  are crisp  and  velvety  and  wonderfully  flavorful.

Allegra offers radishes, turnips, rutabagas and parsnips!
